*1) The master of "Help Me Make It Through The Night" is spliced from take 11 and the ending of take 16. |
*2) The master take numbers of "We Can Make The Morning" and "I'm Leavin'" are not known, as the tape (reel #2) from that session is missing, and would have included the last takes of "I'm Leavin'", and the outtakes of "We Can Make The Morning". |
*3) The master of "Early Morning Rain" cannot be determinated as takes 3, 10 and 12 have all been lifted from that session reel. |
*4) "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" was originally recorded as a duet with Ginger Holiday on march 15 1971, but Ginger's vocals were not used, and removed from the rhythm track leaving only Elvis' vocals. Additional backup vocals were then overdubbed on March 18. With Elvis' original vocals and backup vocal overdubs then being removed from the multi-track track (leaving only the original take 12 rhythm track), on May 21 1971 Elvis tried "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" again as a duet, this time with Temple Riser, but this was also not used. Elvis then re-recorded his vocals once again on this day, to the original take 12 rhythm track, and additional vocal repairs and additions were done on June 9 by Elvis and the Imperials. |
